Well, the engine is going to be fun. I've planned all along for this car to be a Street Sleeper. With this in mind, I have decided on the following spec:

• 1.6 8v CVH
• Twin 40 DCNF Carburrettors
• K&N's
• Kent Cams CVH22 Fast Road Cam
• Kent Cams Alloy Vernier pulley
• Facet Solid State fuel pump
• Sportex 4 Branch manifold
• Sportex 2" Twin box exhaust system

Well, having spent all morning pondering over the vacuum and water systems, I finally got them plummed in. So this afternoon I did the one job I hate doing...... I fitted the exhaust!

Today I 'ave been mostly feeling.... Sh*te! I've got a little cold going on so not much done. I Hi Temp laquered the rocker cover which is looking pretty mint, I timed the engine in and tensioned the belt, and fitted the 4 branch manifold, yay! And Taffy insisted once again on helping!

Well, I've worked my little ass off these last few days and I've managed to get the cam kit and pulley fitted, bolted the twins on, and bolted the head back on to the block. On the cards for tomorrow is fitting the fuel pump and exhaust manifold and system. After that I can pop all the ancilaries back on and fire her up! I also found some red gliter lacquer which I couldn't resist spraying on to the rocker cover!

So far, I've stripped the head off the block and cleaned & de-coked everything. I've gone for a black and silver theme for the engine, I've painted the block black, the head silver and the rocker cover black. I've also got hold of a pair of 40 DCNF's on a CVH manifold off E-Bay, and I've bought a Kent Cams CVH22 Fast road cam from Peter Lloyd Rallying of Bridgend (or www.peterlloydrallying.co.uk). I plan to get the rest of the bits on Monday from Peter Lloyd's, and then to fire her up!
